Windows released an update on August 8, 2023 that is prompting the daily reinstall of certain applications deployed using ClickOnce, including esiLaw.
Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working towards a resolution. In the meantime, please follow these steps:
- If you have not updated Windows since August 7: You can choose to skip the August 8 update since it includes the bug mentioned above and wait to update Windows until a newer update is available. Please check with your internal IT personnel for guidance on whether it is safe to skip this update.
- If you updated Windows on or after August 8: Follow the prompts to uninstall and reinstall esiLaw each time it appears. Look out for Windows updates when they become available. Hopefully, this issue gets resolved in the next available update.
On average, Windows releases a new update every two weeks, so we can expect another update by early next week. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact esiLaw customer support.
